Doctorate of Optometry from the distinguished Southern California College of Optometry Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from University of California, San Diego. Clinical experience with with Eyecare Associates of Utah, the local Sharp Reese Stealy Healthcare System, and at the Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Phoenix.
Enhanced training in dealing with a wide variety of primary eye care cases affecting people of all ages. * Investigator on vision related research funded by the National Institute of Health Awards and scholarships for her work in ocular disease and low vision, an area of optometry that serves the visually impaired. |
Memberships: American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, San Diego County Optometric Society.
Dr. Gendelman is a firm believer in community involvement and volunteering. Her mission trips in the past have taken her to El Salvador and deep into the Mexican Baja peninsula providing eye care to underserved populations. Here in San Diego she has been involved with providing vision screenings at a school for homeless children. Dr. Gendelman is excited to start practicing here in Santee and San Diego's East County and looks forward to becoming an integral part of the community. Dr. Gendelman would like to let everyone know that our doors here at Santee Family Optometry are always open and we welcome everybody from the community to visit us.

Wendy comes to our office with over 16 years of optical experience. From greeting you at the reception counter, helping with optical testing, and choosing the right frame and lens options for you, she is truly a specialist. She is glad to help you with understanding your insurance and benefits as well.
She has worn many different types of contact lenses, glasses, and can share her personal experience with Lasik surgery. With these qualifications, Wendy will be able to guide you with care and ease through all aspects of your visit. We are excited and privileged to have her at our practice!
